Amazing job! I want to be in a forest populated with all of these tree's. :) I have been looking to get into some small games myself. How did you go about it? Did someone hire you? Or did you have to look for a team?

Hello there!!! Since I been having a lot of questions about this kind of work I done in the past, so I decided to make a full comment with some guidelines you can use for working whenever designing ISOMETRIC ART.

NOTE: I don't work anymore doing this type of work but I can definitely guide you with some advice.  Keep in mind this is just my professional experiences and some of those tips might change with your client request or project. Thanks

First I make those images HIGH RES from 4500px wide to 150 to 300 dpi for all the detailing making it much easier.

Second brushed doesn't matter I actually used the default brush settings from Photoshop and teak them here and there to achieve any particular texture or line workflow I wanted. So nothing fancy about this.

Third, keep in mind the perspective that is key of having a good overall design whenever doing ISOMETRIC art.

Forth get yourself a good grid either provided by your client or yourself.

Finally get a background color the resonates with the final color or close color you will see in the final game. Usually provided by the client.

Work hard and always look for reference, hope you find them helpful.

Best regards,

Andre

Hello there!!! Nope I don't use Illustrator at all. All these images were made with Photoshop and 90% of them doesn't even have a line drawing as a base, simple silhouettes and digital painting!!! Cheers.
I just don't do this kind of work anymore I got really tired, to they point of hating. So my suggestion is to get a strong grid line base to keep always in mind the perspective. Best of luck

These are stunning, is there a link to the game they were used in? I can just imagine using these in a game just by looking at them, they're that good. XD

Have you ever considered releasing them to the public, there are tonnes of indy game makers that make games for fun that would love to have such resources to use. Or using the new DA thing where you can put the download file for sale so people can pay to to use them? That way you still make money from them.

Hello there thanks for the comments. Unfortunately this company didn't know how to do games, so all this images
where thrown to the trash 4 times, four different designs, lucky I saved them before the game had another spin-off
from scratch. Hard to believe but true, think about designing all these images 4 times, and each one different
but none of them we use for the actual games. Thanks anyways

That sounds so frustrating! Would you ever resell them? Are you within your rights to sell them to another company?
